My Story
I ascended in my career ladder with excitement thinking I knew all that I was doing. After all, I had earned the leadership position through my determination and hard work. I was a leader after all? There were people who looked up to me as their leaders and followed me –or at least they were SUPPOSED to be following my lead…
It turned out that I was affecting the team(s) I was leading but not influencing them. I was leading with the blind spots that made sense to me. At the heart of the matter, the majority of the team members I was leading were totally unlike me.

I was leading diverse groups of people who needed different calibrations of support and challenge to help them unleash their true potential. I did not know at that time and most of the time I had a sixth sense that would whip me. There must be a better way to lead.
By joining and working through the GiANT tools to become a GiANT Leadership Guide, I discovered I had a lot to work on first in order for me to lead myself, my family, team, organization, and community better and fight for the highest possible good for the people I am leading.
I have learned to Know myself to lead myself better and how to help the people I lead, for example by “calling them up” instead of” calling them out”.
At GiANT, that is exactly what we are doing – Becoming Leaders WORTH following, who Build other Leaders WORTH Following, and Creating organizations that Everyone Wants to Work For.
